Washington State Ferries is preparing for one of the busiest travel periods of the summer, with nearly 400,000 riders expected between September 3 and September 7.
The ferry system has also recorded its busiest summer since 2019, with nearly 7 million riders from Memorial Day through August. At the same time, WSF continues working to improve reliability while managing an aging fleet, vessel maintenance, and staffing needs.
