Idaho Continues Expanding High-Speed Broadband to Rural Communities
Idaho is continuing its statewide effort to expand high-speed internet access to underserved and unserved communities, helping more residents connect to reliable broadband for work, education, healthcare, and everyday life.
Through investments from both state and federal programs, Idaho is supporting broadband projects designed to improve connectivity in rural areas where internet access has historically been limited. These initiatives aim to reduce the digital divide while creating new opportunities for families, businesses, schools, and healthcare providers.
Broadband Expansion Underway
The Idaho Office of Broadband is overseeing multiple infrastructure projects funded through the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program and the Capital Projects Fund (CPF). These programs are bringing high-speed internet to thousands of homes and businesses across the state.
The Capital Projects Fund includes 18 broadband projects managed by 15 subgrantees, with the goal of connecting more than 30,000 homes and businesses throughout Idaho. Most of these projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Looking Ahead
With Idaho’s BEAD program now fully approved at the federal level, the state is moving forward with subgrant agreements, permitting, and construction planning. While many projects are already underway, broadband expansion will continue over the coming months as communities receive new infrastructure and service connections.
