Hawaiʻi Updates Revenue Forecasts as State Reviews FY 2027 Budget Priorities
Hawaiʻi is continuing its fiscal planning for the 2027 fiscal year as state officials review updated revenue forecasts, spending requirements and budget priorities.
The state’s budget process is conducted on a biennial basis, with the current budget covering fiscal years 2026 and 2027. The state fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30.
Revenue Forecasts Remain an Important Part of Planning
The Hawaiʻi Council on Revenues provides the revenue estimates that the governor and Legislature use when preparing and approving the state budget.
The Council released its latest general-fund revenue forecast on September 3, 2026. Its forecasts are used by state officials when evaluating available resources and planning expenditures.
The Department of Budget and Finance has also published preliminary estimates of state growth and expenditures for fiscal years 2027, 2028 and 2029, providing additional information for longer-term financial planning.
